Silver Gemstone Necklace with Landscape Agate

If you love travel and cloud gazing then you need this amazing landscape agate in your life. I think it looks like clouds above the desert, or maybe clouds on the horizon but you might see something different. Either way it's a fabulous soft mauve-brown gemstone with creamy-grey details.

With stones like these I like to let them guide the design of their setting. Usually a stone of this size and shape would be set to hang vertically. Obviously, the detail in the agate called for a horizontal setting to show of the landscape in the stone. This lovely stone has been bezel set in recycled silver and hangs on a delicate 18 inch chain. The back and sides of the bezel has been gently textured to add a little bit more sparkle when the light hits the setting. I also used an exaggerated horseshoe shaped bail rather than a standard small half jump ring style to added some chunkiness and balance to the piece.
